Delete your account

You can ask for your Purrgress account and personal information to be deleted at any time, without giving a reason.

How to ask

Email privacy@purrgressapp.com from the address your account uses, and say you want the account deleted.

Sending it from the account's own address is how we know the request is yours. If you no longer have access to that address, write anyway and we will find another way to confirm it is you.

It is done within 30 days, and you get a confirmation when it is. In practice it is usually much sooner.

What is deleted

your sign-in account, and the identifier linking it to Google
your name, email address, and profile photo
the display name you set in each team
your membership and role in every team
pending invitations you sent or received
any alert-sharing arrangements you are part of

What stays with the rescue

Feeding logs, weights and medical history are records about an animal, not about you. They stay with the rescue team in the same way a paper binder would. A vet treating that cat in three years, or an adopter asking what vaccinations it had, may need them, and they do not leave when a foster does.

Your name on those records

Every entry records who logged it, and by default that name stays. A care record that does not say who gave a medication is a worse record, which is the same reason a paper binder is initialled.

If you would rather your name came off, ask and we will take it off. The entries become "logged by a former member" with their times, amounts and notes intact. You do not have to give a reason, and you can ask for this whether or not you delete your account.

The same goes for anything personal you typed into a free-text note, such as a phone number, an adopter's address, or details about another person. Tell us roughly where it is and we will take it out.

If you own a team

If you are the owner of a team that has other members, transfer ownership to someone else first, or tell us what should happen to the team. Otherwise deleting your account would take other people's access with it.
