Terms of Use
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Purrgress is run by Eric Tannehill, an individual developer, not a company. Contact: support@purrgressapp.com.
By using Purrgress you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.
1. Two things to read before anything else
Purrgress is not veterinary advice. The app shows general reference figures
- suggested feeding amounts for a kitten's age and weight, expected daily weight gain, and typical feeding intervals. These are rough guides drawn from common fostering practice. They are not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for a veterinarian. Neonatal kittens can go from fine to critical in hours. If an animal is losing weight, not eating, cold, limp, or you are simply worried, call your vet or your rescue's medical coordinator. Do not wait for the app to tell you something is wrong.
Reminders are a convenience, not a life-support system. Scheduled notifications depend on your phone's operating system, its battery settings, and whether it is switched on. Android may delay or drop them. A restart, a battery-saver mode, or an aggressive task killer can silence them entirely. Set a separate alarm for overnight feeds. If a reminder never arrives and a kitten misses a feeding, that is a limitation we are telling you about in advance, and it is not something we can be held responsible for.
2. Who can use it
You need to be 13 or older. If you are under 18, get a parent or guardian's permission first. This requirement exists to meet US and international laws about data collected from children. Please don't put me in a difficult situation.
You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure, because anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at support@purrgressapp.com if you think someone else has got into it.
3. Teams, roles, and who controls what
Records live inside a rescue team. The team owner has final say over that team: who is in it, what role they hold, and what happens to its records. Co-owners and coordinators have the powers described in the app. A foster sees the litters assigned to them.
When you enter care records for a team, those records belong to that team, not to you personally. If you leave or are removed, you lose access but the records stay. They are the rescue's medical history for animals in its care - think of it the way you would a paper binder that stays with the rescue when a foster moves on.
Those records also keep the name of the person who entered each one, so the team can tell who fed a kitten or gave a dose. That name stays after you leave, and we will remove it if you ask us to.
Your own account and personal information are deleted whenever you ask. The Privacy Notice lists item by item what goes and what stays.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, and records you enter. By putting them in Purrgress you give us permission to store and display them for the purpose of running the app for you and your team, and nothing more. We do not use your photos or records to advertise anything, and we do not license them to anyone.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not put in photographs of people who have not agreed to it, and do not enter someone else's personal information, an adopter's address for instance, into a notes field.
5. Fair use
Do not use Purrgress to break the law, to harass anyone, to store anything unrelated to animal care, or to get at data belonging to a team you are not part of. Do not attempt to probe, scrape, or overload the service. Do not resell access to it.
We can suspend or remove an account that does these things. For anything other than a clear abuse case we will contact you first.
6. Backups are your responsibility
The backup feature writes to your own Google Drive. We do not keep a copy, and we cannot recover data you or a teammate deleted. Run backups if the records matter to you, and for medical records for animals in your care, they probably do.
7. What it costs, and the fact that it is provided as it is
Purrgress costs nothing to use today, and the goal is to keep it as close to free as it can be for as long as it can be. What I cannot do is promise it will always be free: the database and storage are billed by use, and that bill grows with the number of animals being tracked.
If charging becomes necessary, the intention is to scale it with size. A rescue moving hundreds of animals a year costs real money to host, and someone fostering a few litters a year does not. You will be told here and in the app before anything changes, not after, and you will have time to export your records if you would rather leave.
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost. We may change features, or stop running the service entirely. If we do shut it down, we will give at least 30 days' notice through the app so you can back up your records.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Eric Tannehill is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of Purrgress, including lost records, missed notifications, or decisions made based on what the app displayed.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid to use Purrgress, which for a free account is zero.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit to be limited.
9. Ending it
You can stop using Purrgress whenever you like, and ask for your account to be deleted at privacy@purrgressapp.com. We can end your access if you break these terms. Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 continue to apply afterwards.
10. Changes
If these terms change materially, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Purrgress after that means you accept the new version.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, and any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located there. If you are a consumer somewhere with laws that give you the right to bring a claim locally, this does not take that right away.
