Known issues
Last updated: 11 October 2026
This page lists problems we already know about, so you do not have to spend your evening reporting something we are aware of. It is kept current during testing.
If what you are seeing is not here, please do tell us. Something missing from this list is more useful to us than something on it.
Only open problems are listed here. What has already been fixed, and what is new in each build, is on the changelog.

Android may say Purrgress is crashing
Where: when you close the app, not while you are using it.
Android may show a notice that Purrgress is crashing frequently, and offer to clear the app's data or cache. You may also see an occasional crash message as the app closes.
Nothing is lost, and you do not need to clear anything. The fault happens while the app is already shutting down, after everything has been saved. Your feedings, weights and medical records are stored on the server, not only on the phone, and none of this touches them. If you do clear the cache, nothing of yours goes with it.
The cause is a bug in a notifications library we use rather than in Purrgress itself. It has been reported to the people who maintain it. There is no newer version to upgrade to yet, so this one is genuinely out of our hands for the moment, and we would rather say so than imply a fix is coming next week.
Status: reported upstream. We will say so here when it is fixed.
A feeding you typed in by hand may be dated in the future
Where: only affects entries made before build 10, using the past-record switch to type in a feeding or weigh-in that already happened.
Until build 10 the app let you set a time later than the moment you saved it, which almost always meant picking PM when you meant AM. A feeding dated ahead of now was treated as the kitten's most recent feed, so the app showed that kitten as recently fed, hid its red Due now marker, and pushed its next reminder out by however large the mistake was.
Build 10 stops it happening, and will not treat a future entry as the latest feed even if one gets in another way. It does not correct entries already made.
Worth two minutes if you have typed in older feedings: open a kitten's History tab and look for anything dated later than it should be. Tap it and correct the time. Until you do, that kitten's due state may be wrong.
Status: fixed in build 10 for anything entered from now on.
A reminder you dismiss does not lead you back to the litter
Where: the Round tab, if you swipe the notification away rather than tapping it.
Tapping a feeding reminder opens the litter it was about. If you dismiss it instead and open the app later, you land on the Round tab, which lists every kitten across every litter. The one that is due is at the top with a red Due now chip, but nothing names the litter the alert came from.
Noticeable if you foster more than one litter at a time.
Status: being worked on. Not yet decided whether the Round list should group by litter or open focused on whichever litter woke you, and we would rather hear from people using it before choosing.
Telling us about something else
In the app: Settings → Report a problem, or Report this record on a kitten's page.
By email: support@purrgressapp.com.
What helps: what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screenshot is worth several paragraphs. The version number is on the Settings screen at the bottom, and it matters more than it looks, because during testing not everyone is on the same build.
Nothing you report is too small. A thing that annoyed you for two seconds is a thing that will annoy a hundred people later.
