Help test Purrgress
Purrgress is a feeding and weight tracker for foster kittens, built by someone who works with bottle babies. Before Google will put it on the Play Store, 12 people have to test it for 14 days. That is what this page is asking for.
What you are signing up for
You give us one thing: the email address your phone's Play Store is signed in as. When Google finishes reviewing the app, we email you a link that lets you install it like any other app. No sideloading, no developer settings.
Three levels of help, and all three count:
- Best: you already bottle feed, and you use it daily for the feedings and weights you are currently writing on paper.
- Good: you open it once a day for five minutes.
- Still helpful: you install it and leave it there.
Google counts people who stay opted in, so even the third one genuinely moves this forward. Say which one is realistic for you rather than which one sounds best. Nobody is checking, and an honest answer is more useful than an optimistic one.
It is free, there are no ads, and nothing about you or your rescue is sold to anyone. The privacy notice says what is collected and the terms cover the rest.
This is an early release. There will be bugs. Feedings and weights you log are real and will still be there afterwards, but please do not make it the only place a medical record lives yet.
The email address we need
This is the part that goes wrong most often, so it is worth thirty seconds. We need the Google account your phone's Play Store is signed in as, not simply an address you read mail at. If they are different, the app will not appear for you, and there is nothing we can fix from our end.
To find it on your phone:
- Open the Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture, top right.
- The account name and email address are at the top of the panel that slides down. That address is the one we want.
If several accounts are listed, pick the one shown at the top. That is the one the Play Store is actually using.
Three questions, and the form takes under a minute.
We are collecting names now and waiting on Google's review, which takes up to seven days. You will hear from us at support@purrgressapp.com once it clears. If nothing arrives after a week or so, write to that address and ask; it is more likely that something went wrong than that you were forgotten.
On an iPhone?
There is no iPhone app, but Purrgress runs in the browser at purrgressapp.com/app and everything works. Sign in with Google, then add it to your home screen from the share menu and it behaves much like an app. The one thing it cannot do is wake your phone for a feeding reminder, because a browser cannot alert you with the tab closed.
You do not need to sign up for anything to use it. Sign up anyway if you would like to hear when there is news, and say iPhone on the form.
Questions
How to use it walks through the app in plain language, and the questions page covers the common ones. Anything else, email support@purrgressapp.com and a person will answer.
